Bolton Landing Boats & Boating Festival: A Small-Boat Regatta Along the Shore of Lake George
September 22, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
A re-creation of the regattas and races on Lake George, NY that were common throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Bolton Landing Boats & Boating Festival, a day-long event at the Rogers Park docks in Bolton Landing, featured dozens of small boats from that era, powered by oar, paddle, and sail. There were in-water and on-land exhibits and demonstrations, and live music.
- Historic/period boats powered by oar, paddle, and sail
- Demonstrations, races, exhibits
- Music festival on site
- Free and open to the public
- A full day of activity for the entire family
This was a chance to experience and learn about the historic boats you may only have seen in photographs in books and museums. The event was hosted by the Bolton Historical Museum, and will be reminiscent of the photos and boats depicted in its current exhibit, “Along the Shore: Boats and Boating on Lake George from 1890-1920.”
Hosted by the Bolton Historical Museum, and sponsored by the Lake George Mirror, Tumblehome Boatshop, and the Adirondack Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society.
