Boatshop Update

Lots of changes over the past several weeks!  Sean O’Neill joined the boatbuilding crew, plus Alex Smith joined as our summer apprentice. Inside the boatshop, the crew are working on putting the finishing touches on the restorations of two 1926 Sound Inter Club racing class sail boats.

But the biggest changes have occurred to the outside of the boatshop. We’re cutting windows, replacing doors, building gardens – doing what it takes to make this boatshop into a place that our clients will feel comfortable in and proud to bring their families as we work on their boats.

Boatshop Update

With the building permits all in order and plans mostly finalized, we’re starting work on the lobby and office space inside the boatshop this week. With 6 boats currently in the shop, it’s a good thing we’ve got over 6000 square feet of room to move things around in.

Boatshop Update

We’re still getting underway, but it was a big week in the boatshop. Three customer boats arrived this week… all on a beautiful trailer built by the guys at Brownell Trailers. It is a 6-pad hydraulic trailer capable of carrying a 40’, 20,000 pound boat with up to 7’ of draft. And—of course, pretty much anything smaller than that. She has an air bag suspension, as well, and is just the thing for hauling a wooden boat. Plus, she’s just a real beauty.
